It’s New, it’s Nice, and it’s NAPLES. Florida, that is. Naturally, it is beautiful at the least, magnificent at the most. The Eagle Lakes Golf Club has been taking southwest Florida by storm since it opened in 2006 and it seems like it has no immediate plans of stopping any moment soon. This is one golf vacation destination specifically designed for the low handicap golfer. But designer Gordon Lewis was too nice, he wanted the better players come play with their newbie buddies. So he placed five sets of tees on each hole and made it one for everyone.
The Eagle Lakes Golf Club measures close to 7000 yards from the longest tees, par 71. Like most every Florida golf course, water is an indispensable part. And by indispensable, it actually means water on every hole. All 18 of it has it making an appearance directly and indirectly; add to that the presence of bunkers and native vegetation paired with really quick greens – the result is a most fascinating concoction of golf features that will take any golf trip from simple to simply amazing. Or exhilarating. Or wonderful. Or all of that.
Much of the design of the golf club – layout and amenities both – are crafted with Olde Florida themes. But this is more apparent in the 11,381 square-foot elegant clubhouse. That, the fully stocked pro shop and the perfect conditions of the course all year round make the Eagle Lakes Golf Club a most perfect place for a golf vacation. Perhaps the only thing Negative in this course are the neat scorecards; and maybe, just maybe, even when it’s gone from ‘New’ to ‘Old’, it will still be Nice. The nicest even.
