If Forty Niner Country Club could talk, the guests would probably hear many interesting stories about the Indians who lived here centuries ago. The club would probably tell how amusing its natural beauty is and would become more proud of the changes made. A golf trip to Forty Niner is also an opportunity to find many historic artifacts.
Large mesquite, cottonwood, weeping willows, and eucalyptus trees line this relaxing northeast golf club. Not to mention the three lakes and astonishing mountain views which make an enjoyable course for all ages. Located in North East Tucson, Forty Niner Country Club is an older, upscale country club circled by very nice residential homes in a traditional peaceful country club setting – reminiscent of days gone by. Taking a golf vacation here brings every guest back to a slower, quieter and more peaceful time. Bringing a camera might be necessary to capture moments in this unique setting.
The 18-hole Forty Niner Country Club plays 6,630 yards from the tips for a par of 72, a course rating of 71.3, and a slope of 124 on Bermuda grass. This William F. Bell-designed course, which opened for play in 1961, is mostly flat; it is more of a traditional course with elevated greens, gentle, and beautiful, as it winds through the wonderful elegant subdivision. Being accurate off the tee and shot placement are more important than distance especially when confronted by the dogleg holes. Be sure to bring families and friends for a golf trip to Forty Niner for the course – the place is best enjoyed with fun company!
