Bay Club – West Courseis nestled amid the scenic woodlands and natural wetlands of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This place is the original golf course of Bay Club. It was designed by Russell Roberts and made available to the public in 1989. Challenging yet forgiving – these are two words that would best describe The Plantation Course at the Reynolds Plantation in Georgia. It is a great eighteen-hole regulation course featuring 6,698 yards of golf for a par of 72. Bob Cupp was the mastermind behind this wonderful course that started giving golfers pure golfing treat in 1987. Golf vacations spent here are made of fun and challenging rounds of golf.

The Plantation Course has a course rating of 70.2 and a slope rating of 125. According to Charley Stine of GolfWeek, “the hills are natural to the terrain, but the funny lies and funny bounces result from the integrity of shape during construction”. The bent grass greens are gently contoured and the Bermuda grass fairways are a little hilly and are always flawlessly maintained. It was ranked among the “Ten Best New Courses” by Golf Magazine in 2004, “Best Places to Play” by Golf Digest in 2006, and “America’s Top Golf Courses” by the Zagat Survey. With the strategic bunkers and water hazards, a golf trip here will make require that the golfers bring their “A” game if they want to score low.

The center course of Reynolds Plantation, Reynolds National Golf Club is one great course to spend a week of golf vacation in. Also known as “The National”, this is Tom Fazio’s third masterpiece for Reynolds Plantation. The course is sandy, with 115 bunkers. According to Assistant Professional Ryan Frisch, the key ingredient for this course is shot-making. The golf balls do not hit the front and roll onto the green; they embed into the side of the hill and stay within inches of where they landed. To fully enjoy every game, golfers must able to control their forces on each strike.

As expected from a Fazio creation, the bunkers are not just oval, but consist of tentacles in every direction. This style is worthy of being considered as a product of modern art. Reynolds National Golf Club features breathtaking views and extraordinary elevations. The 27 holes skirt the shores of Lake Oconee. In 2006 and 2007, the intense forests of hardwoods, flowering wild dogwoods, and pleasant-looking pines helped the club garner many prestigious awards that include “America’s Best Resort Courses” by GolfWeek Magazine and “100 Must Play Courses of Georgia” by Golfstyles Magazine. This is the reason why The National is a place worth spending a golf vacation or two in.

“It’s no surprise that The National turned out as well as it did because the Reynolds folks have the patience and commitment to do things right,” Fazio said. The recognitions and awards that Reynolds National Golf Club has received only make up a small part of the reasons why guests should have a golf trip to this place. Reynolds Landing Golf Course is the hidden treasure of Lake Oconee. The genius Bob Cupp unveiled his great talent during the development of this course – from the masterful green settings to the challenging shot played along the beautiful Lake Oconee. Bob Mauragas, the Vice President of Golf Operations, was one of the great names who witnessed the greatness of the place. This only proves that a golf trip to this place will definitely bring extreme excitement to each guest.

Reynolds Landing Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation length golf course that features 6,926 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course is somewhat considered as highly difficult. But low scores are still possible for experienced players. It opened in 1986 and features four sets of tees for different skill levels. The layout meanders through tracts of naturally wooded areas and undulating hills that make the course fun for all levels of golfers. A golf vacation at this course must not be only experienced by the golfer himself or just his family and friends, but also by the whole world.

Reynolds Landing Golf Course was ranked second best courses in Georgia. It is indeed long and seems tough. But on the surface, it doesn’t look that difficult. The fairways are wide and the greens are sloped but not so undulating. What make this course more formidable are its subtle changes, uneven lies, elevation changes and a couple of hidden water hazards. A golf trip to Georgia without being here is like watching a box-office movie and missing its climax.
