The Cambrian Ridge
The Cambrian Ridge in Greenville, Alabama has been considered by the avid golfers as one of the Trail’s most challenging as well as the most beautiful golf courses. Made up of four short 9-hole plays namely the Canyon, the Loblolly, the Sherling, and the Short, golfers of all ability levels can now experience variation in every game. The Canyon features the par-4 501-yard hole #1 that drops about 200 feet from the tee all the way to the fairway. The Loblolly features the water-fronted greens as well as the gently rolling fairways with the cathedral-like pines. The Sherling, which is considered as the best nine on the Trail, offers the par-3 hole #4 which gives a view of the Sherling Lake. The Short on the other hand features the collection of par-3 holes that lie in between the Sherling Lake and the ridge.
The Capitol Hill
The Capitol Hill is comprised of three beautifully-designed 18-hole championship layouts namely the Judge, the Legislator, and the Senator. The Judge offers the stunning vistas of the Alabama River’s glistening backwaters, the more traditional Legislator course offers the holes that were perfectly laid on a native cypress swamp, and the Senator course offers the pot-hole bunkers as well as mounds that are about 20 to 40 feet high.
The Grand National is a golf course that is perfectly nestled on a 600-acre Lake Saugahatchee that offers 36 championship holes of various difficulty levels. In 2009, the course was a recipient of the GolfWorld Reader’s Choice awards as being “the top golf course”. The layout is comprised of three 18-hole golf courses – The Lake, The Links, and The Short.

The Short Course on the other hand has the demanding pin placements and the best Bermuda putting greens.
