A true classic never gets old even when placed next to hundreds of other new golf vacation destinations. Proof to this is the Palmer Course of the Oasis Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada. Even its newer sibling course could not drown out the beauty that is the handiwork of Arnold Palmer’s genius and the naturally stunning setting of Southern Nevada.
This splendid desert course, formerly known as the Oasis Golf Course, was built in 1995. But it does not have any evidence of wear and tear and to this day is still considered one of the best in North America. Arnold Palmer worked it in such a way that the course highlights some of the best desert views hereabouts, at the same time gives an extra spunk to any golfer’s game. The contoured greens, rugged canyon fairways, and water hazards all combine to make this a highly difficult course to play. Golfers would find it hard to decide on whether their golf vacation at the Palmer Course of the Oasis Golf Club was easy and relaxing or a little too heartbreaking.
Not meant to be daunting though, this 18-hole, par-71 golf trip favorite has five sets of tees to accommodate players of various skill levels. It has more than enough challenge to force a player to step his game up, but makes it up for him with a rewarding view of the Nevada desert landscape. It has all the makings of something that patrons would love for a very long time that even when these golfers find fun on newer courses, they will always go back to the Palmer Course of the Oasis Golf Club.
